This workshop does not have much of a talk as they prefer us to be proactive. After a brief on who our hosts are they soon decided to divide us into groups. We venture around the few stations but unfortunately couldn't make it to all of them:-
1. First station, we encounter had us expressing a word as interesting as possible within a time limit.
2. Second station, 2 groups were given a random scenario; our scenario was one of our clients was almost raped by our company's employee but the client manage to defend herself causing injury to our employee. How do we settle this issue professionally.
3. Last station, All of us have to create a 1-minute video introducing ourselves and why companies should hire us.
The station concept was interesting and we were taught multiple lessons on critical thinking skills, teamwork and interview skills.

We were taught stages on how to better prepare for any interview Stage 1: Write a good resume Stage 2: Background research of the company Stage 3: Anticipating questions of your interviewer Stage 4: Think of "questions" that you could ask your employer Finally, we were tested in a mock interview and given an interview feedback about how well we done. It was a truly benefiting experience for me. |

Interview Skills Workshop
(Searching for a Job)
Speakers:
- Kelly Seow (left side) - Lai Yi (right side) This workshop has given me an understanding on the importance of knowing your job responsibilities, expectations of the company and your own career path you wish to take. After the talk, we were placed into groups to create questions that may be ask by our employers and we also learn how to create strong questions to ask our employers and recognizing weak and unintelligible questions along the way. Finally, volunteers go on stage to answer the questions we created. We see how well the students do as an example of a stimulated interview done by our speakers. |
